Work - Spring 2025

This semester, I worked a lot more with music. Specifically on song and lyric writing.

I wrote and performed a song in the Shy Performers small group:

“Due Time (Demo)” by Evan Bouvier
The song was an attempt where I told myself “I am just going to write a song and it can be trite, cliche, whatever... but it will be a song.” I did this because songwriting, as I have mentioned many times, is very new to me alongside being just incredibly hard on myself and my ideas. I am a overthinker and have been working extra hard to get myself past this throughout this semester, especially in Elaine’s “Mining Meaning” class.

This is another song that I’d written this past semester specifically for Elaine’s class when she prompted us with “What does Wonder mean to you?”

“Wonder (Demo)” by Evan Bouvier
This song contained many experiments with using suspended chords to achieve how I personally encapsulate the concept of Wonder.

Sketchbook Scans:

Miscellaneous sketchbook scans of pages I filled throughout the semester. When drawing, I mostly work with ink as I don’t want anything to be erased. The good and the bad must stay. No take-backs.

I also have a lot of personal writing from this semester that I don’t feel ready to share, but there are probably a few hundred pages of journals that I filled this semester. I went through about two journals since January.

For the summer, I want to work more and more on my music, keep writing, drawing, and do more photography. I used to do quite a bit of digital photography but burnt myself out with it but am feeling like going back to it and experimenting with using film again.
